Hi Beth, I saw that you liked cat stories. Many, many years ago I had a persian cat named Jeanie-Weenie (:)) She was the love of my life at the time. I must have gotten out went I left the door open once. I did not know it at the time. Well, she was gone! She was a beautiful cat and very friendly...and she was brought back. The person who brought her back lived in the apartment complex also, he had an elderly mother that he lived with. He was also an employee of the complex. He had been in my apart ment many times for repairs and had made comments on the cat, i.e. how beautiful, how sweet, how smart....I came home one day and thought it odd that something seemed not right...an eery feeling. She was gone! I asked around and the neighbors said the man had come by earlier with his tools, I did not need any repairs. He also had a big duffle bag with him. Crap almighty. I called the manager and he assured me that this man would not do anything that would cause him to loose his job. In fact, he even said that he apartments mixed up and left when he realized the 'error.' I was crushed, my cat was gone. My girlfriend just happen to live in the same complex and was walking by his apartment several weeks later...guess what? There was my cat in the window! I immediately went and got the manager and we knocked on the door. His mother answered door, totally oblivious to what was goin on. She said her son found the cat and it was hers now. Did I have proof that it was mine? Oh, yeah, I did! One thing led to another and I got my cat back. He did not lose his job but he had to apologize and I got my locks changed. I was furious. I told him if I ever saw him even looking like he wanted to come in the direction of my apartment I would sic my dad on him, and his friends! The nerve...Jeanie Weenie was never the same after that...she was always nervous, and peed everywhere. I hated this man. And I still do not understand why he did not lose his job. It made me thing of what else did he do that was unethical? Gave me the creeps after that and I moved away.
